Feminism, a socio-political movement advocating for gender equality, evolved significantly in the 21st century. By 2000, it embraced intersectionality, recognizing that gender discrimination intersects with race, class, sexuality, and other factors. This understanding broadened its scope, addressing issues faced by women of diverse backgrounds.

During the early 2000s, third-wave feminism emerged, focusing on individualism, autonomy, and sexual empowerment, challenging traditional gender roles and embracing diversity within feminism itself. Social media became a powerful tool for feminist activism, enabling global solidarity and raising awareness about gender-based injustices.

By the mid-2000s, fourth-wave feminism emerged, emphasizing digital activism and addressing contemporary issues like online harassment, reproductive rights, and workplace discrimination. It also highlighted the importance of male allies and LGBTQ+ inclusion within feminist discourse.

Overall, feminism in the 2000s continued the fight for gender equality while adapting to modern challenges and embracing intersectionality. It sought to dismantle patriarchal structures, empower marginalized voices, and create a more inclusive society where people of all genders can thrive equally.

Feminism has very little to do with men - which makes me wonder why men think it came about by thinking about all women hate about them - rather than thinking about what women want for themselves and other women
