I have read a lot of literature on capitalism throughout my life, not least of all the famed communist manifesto by Karl Marx, but i have never found a book that breaks down the concepts of capitalism in such a relatable, warm, and welcoming way. Harvey is committed to not just telling you what capitalism is, but telling you what it has done, is doing, and will do to our societies, using many real-life observations he has made and real-life experiences he is made. Not only is it a greatly informative book, but Harvey is also a beautiful storyteller to enjoy, making it all the more likely that the key messages of the text will stay with the reader long after they turn the last page.Â
